Our client is a leading company in the hospitality and catering industry.
Job Responsibilities and Duties
- Prepare monthly management accounts to support financial performance monitoring and decision-making;
- Lead the annual budgeting process and contribute to periodic financial forecasting activities;
- Prepare cash flow statements and other financial reports as required by management;
- Ensure the timely preparation and submission of VAT returns;
- Conduct financial analysis to support new business initiatives and ongoing operations;
- Oversee and strengthen internal financial control procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance;
- Act as the main point of contact for external auditors during statutory audit processes;
- Monitor debtor balances and oversee credit control procedures, reporting regularly to senior management;
- Supervise and support the accounts team in managing daily financial transactions, including settlements and receivables;
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, accounting standards, and applicable fiscal regulations;
- Recommend and implement improvements to financial processes and internal procedures;
- Provide guidance and mentoring to the finance team to support professional development and effective performance.
Experience
- ACCA qualification or equivalent is required;
- Previous experience in a similar finance or accounting leadership role;
- Experience within the hospitality sector or multi-entity business environments will be considered an asset;
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word;
- Familiarity with accounting software and ERP systems will be considered advantageous;
- Good understanding of EU financial regulations; knowledge of Maltese compliance requirements will be considered an asset.
