Job Responsibilities and Duties
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of monthly financial reports;
- Analyse financial data to identify variances, trends, and opportunities for cost optimisation;
- Support the Financial Controller in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts;
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities;
- Ensure the timely and accurate completion of month-end and year-end closing procedures;
- Perform bank reconciliations and assist in monitoring cash flow positions;
- Maintain effective internal control procedures to safeguard company assets;
- Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies;
- Assist with internal and external audits and support the resolution of audit findings;
- Work closely with department heads to ensure financial processes align with operational objectives;
- Monitor inventory levels and cost controls across operations;
- Support capital expenditure (CAPEX) planning, tracking, and reporting;
- Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff, including involvement in training and development initiatives;
- Contribute to the improvement and automation of financial processes and reporting systems;
- Assist in maintaining and enhancing financial systems and procedures.
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;
- Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent;
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in accounting or finance, preferably within the hospitality sector;
- Familiarity with hotel accounting standards will be considered an asset;
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes;
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel;
- Knowledge of local tax legislation and regulatory requirements.
