Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Implement and enhance the Finance department’s processes, controls, and documentation, aligned with the Group’s objectives;
  • Prepare financial reports, including management accounts, financial statements, statutory audits, and regulatory filings;
  • Manage the financial aspects of clients' card programs, including safeguarding user funds, reconciliations, settlements with Card Schemes, and handling chargebacks;
  • Manage the Company’s treasury functions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and maintaining banking relationships;
  • Plan and manage the budgetary process, including preparing financial projections and budgets;
  • Oversee the Company’s operational financial functions, such as cash flow management, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll;
  • Coordinate external audits and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements;
  • Manage financial risks, liquidity, and capital adequacy, including stress testing and wind-down planning;
  • Ensure that outsourced functions or activities meet the terms of contracts and service-level agreements;
  • Support other group entities as per established agreements;
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including the Board of Directors, auditors, authorities, card schemes, and clients.

Experience

  • Possess a National Qualification Framework Level 6 or better, certified by the Malta Qualifications Recognition Information Centre (MQRIC), or a widely recognized professional qualification at a comparable level in Accountancy, Auditing, and/or Finance. Candidates without the necessary qualifications but with at least 6 years of senior-level experience will also be considered;
  • Possess a minimum of 3 years of senior-level experience in Accountancy, Auditing, or Finance;
  • Knowledge of financial services, particularly in electronic money issuance, payment services, regulatory reporting, and supervisory filings;
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint;
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Kani will be considered as an asset;

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional demeanour;

  • Adaptive and pragmatic in handling changes and assessing risks;
  • Initiative and sound judgment in decision-making.
